President Yoweri Museveni has met a delegation from M/s Tullow Plc, led by Mr. Paul McDade, who is the Chief Operating Officer and Mr. Elly Karuhanga, President of Tullow Uganda. The meeting took place today at State House, Entebbe.

The Tullow Plc delegation was later joined by a group from the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) which expressed interest in joining Uganda’s oil and gas sector by partnering up with Tullow.

President Museveni said that the government will discuss all proposals by companies operating in the oil and gas sector adding that the country looks forward to welcoming new companies.

The government of Uganda will reach a decision in the coming weeks on the current process of pre-emption that will respect the contractual rights of the existing companies.
