President al Bashir begins 2-day official visit to Uganda

President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir of Sudan is in Uganda on a 2-day official at the invitation of President Yoweri Museveni.
President Bashir was this morning received at State House, Entebbe by his host President Museveni and a high-powered Uganda delegation that included Cabinet Ministers, Government Service Chiefs and senior government officials.
President al-Bashir was treated to a red carpet welcome and accorded a 21- gun salute. He also inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Uganda Police Force. Read more about President al Bashir begins 2-day official visit to Uganda

President Meets Medics, Pins Indiscipline as cause of Industrial Action

President Yoweri Museveni has said that poor planning and indiscipline are the causes of industrial action.

The President who was today meeting with medical practitioners at State House, Entebbe said that the logic of surviving in adversity is still lacking in the Ministry of Health officials and health workers. He observed that if Health Ministry officials and health were good at planning they would separate crucial recurring and non-recurring problems and address them appropriately. “We should Not start any Course that has no Relevance to job Market” – President Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has said government does not support the establishment of courses in higher institutions of leaning in the country that are not marketable.
“Let us not start any course that has got no relevance to the job market. The Government will not fail to support you with funds for personnel and essential requirements for promoting science education. President Museveni Receives Special Message from Congo President Nguesso

Thursday 12th October 2017
President Yoweri Museveni has received a special message from President Dennis Sassou Nguesso of Congo.
The Congolese Special Envoy, Mr. Jean Claude Gakosso, who is also the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered the message to President Museveni today at State House, Entebbe.
President Nguesso conveyed warm greetings to his Ugandan counterpart and also wished him good health.
The visiting Congolese Minister was accompanied by a delegation.

He said that discipline will help the country move forward and enumerated the three branches of the State as being the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary. President Yoweri Museveni has made an impromptu visit to the death site of one of the victims in the spate of murders that have sent shock waves around the community and forced security forces on a frantic search for answers.
