ICGRL ends with call for stability in the Region

The 6th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the International Conference of Great Lakes’ Region (ICGLR) has ended in Luanda, Angola with the leaders reiterating their commitment to finding a lasting solution to peace and security in the region.
The Summit, chaired by Angolan President, Mr. Eduardo dos Santos and attended by President Yoweri Museveni, among other Heads State, recommended that Burundi and Rwanda engage in open and frank dialogue to resolve any grievances they could be having. The size and spectrum of the entrepreneurial class is one of the bottlenecks to rapid economic growth including challenges in filling the gaps in the services and manufacturing sector and those that relate to human intellect, President Yoweri Museveni has told German businessmen urging them, that the quickest way to profitability is to get people with the technology and money to partner with local stakeholders in Uganda to invest in various sectors especially tourism and trade. President Expresses worry on Africa Stability

Thursday, 12th May 2016
President Yoweri Museveni has expressed his concern over the stability and progress on African continent.
“With the freedom of South Africa in 1994, Africa had been liberated and we expected progress in the continent. However, the situations in Somalia, eastern Congo, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Mali, Libya and activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria, cause concern,” he said.
