President Warns Ministers, Politicians, Civil Servants

President Yoweri Museveni has this evening closed a two-day Cabinet Retreat with a strong warning to Ministers, politicians and civil servants against corruption. He said that the vice was a major roadblock to the country’s development agenda and described corruption as a great shame to the nation.

DRC’s President Kabila Arrives in Uganda for one-day Visit

President Yoweri Museveni has today received President Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who has arrived in Uganda today for a one-day visit.
President Museveni received his visiting counterpart at the Uganda-DRC border post of Mpondwe in Kasese district, in Western Uganda.
The DRC leader crossed the bridge linking the two countries at 12:53 p.m. and later inspected a guard of honour mounted by Officers and men of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). Read more about DRC’s President Kabila Arrives in Uganda for one-day Visit

ICGRL ends with call for stability in the Region

The 6th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the International Conference of Great Lakes’ Region (ICGLR) has ended in Luanda, Angola with the leaders reiterating their commitment to finding a lasting solution to peace and security in the region.
The Summit, chaired by Angolan President, Mr. Eduardo dos Santos and attended by President Yoweri Museveni, among other Heads State, recommended that Burundi and Rwanda engage in open and frank dialogue to resolve any grievances they could be having. The size and spectrum of the entrepreneurial class is one of the bottlenecks to rapid economic growth including challenges in filling the gaps in the services and manufacturing sector and those that relate to human intellect, President Yoweri Museveni has told German businessmen urging them, that the quickest way to profitability is to get people with the technology and money to partner with local stakeholders in Uganda to invest in various sectors especially tourism and trade.
