President Museveni woos Investors as he Concludes Qatar State Visit.

President Yoweri Museveni concluded his three-day State visit to Qatar with calls to Qatari investors to set up shop in Uganda while giving them guarantees of government support. The President, who was invited by the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, was accompanied to Doha by the 1st Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. President Yoweri Museveni has today congratulated the security forces for successfully arresting two Senior Government Officials, Ogor Mike, an Economist and Godfrey Turyabahika, a Commissioner in the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, who were involved in the act of taking bribes from investors.

President roots for Dialogue among River Nile Basin Countries

President Yoweri Museveni has called for dialogue among the countries that straddle the River Nile Basin in order to have a common consensus on how best the countries can equitably utilize the Nile river water resource for the good of the entire Nile basin population. He, therefore, proposed a Summit of Heads of State of the Nile Basin countries that should aim at discussing fully and resolving all matters relating to the River Nile and pave way for full ratification of the Nile Basin treaties by all countries. President Museveni Urges US President to Strengthen Ties with Africa

President Yoweri Museveni has urged the new American President, Mr. Donald Trump to strengthen ties with Africa in general and Uganda in particular owing to the growing purchasing power of the African continent saying this will present a good opportunity for trade between the United States of America and Africa.

President Yoweri Museveni has said that ideological opportunism has caused wars and conflicts in Africa.
He made the remarks today at State House, Entebbe where he received and met a delegation of military Generals and Brigadiers from the National Defence University in the United States of America, led by the Assistant Commandant Marine Corps, General John Paxton. The American Ambassador to Uganda, Deborah Malac, accompanied the high-ranking US military delegation to Entebbe. President Defends Kyabazinga Appointment as Ambassador

President Yoweri Museveni has defended the appointment of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, Wilberforce Nadiope the IV, as an Ambassador in the Office of the President stressing that the appointment is not unlawful, as it contravenes no law in the national constitution.
