35th AU SESSION STARTS VICE PRESIDENT REPRESENTS UGANDA

Vice President, Jessica Alupo has arrived in Ethiopia where she is representing  President  Museveni at the 35th Ordinary session of the African Union (AU).

Alupo was received on arrival, by Dr Habtamu Itefa-Minister of Water and Energy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Ugandan Ambassador to Ethiopia who also doubles as Permanent Representative to the AU and the UN Economic Commission for Africa,  Rebecca Amuge Otengo, the Uganda’s Deputy Defence Advisor  to Ethiopia, Col Fred Zakye and other officials from  the Ugandan Embassy in Addis.

The Vice President later engaged in working meeting with the Minister of state for foreign Affairs in charge of International Relations-Hon Okello Oryem.

The Assembly of Heads of State and Governments  starts tomorrow.  Alupo is accompanied by the Minister of state in office of the Vice President, Hon Diana Mutasingwa and Hon Joyce Moriko Kaduchu, Minister of state for Primary Education who will represent UGANDA at the high level dialogue on gender equality and Education organized by  the AU.
