President Eulogizes Al-Hajji Kivejinja “He was Development Oriented”

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Musevevni has paid growing tribute the late 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Al-Hajji Kirunda Kivejinja whom he described as nationalist and pan-Africanist who greatly contributed to the liberation of Uganda and was a strong pillar of the National Resistance Movement.

He said this while meeting family members of the late Kirunda Kivejinja, led by brothers Hajji Yusuf Igambi Kakaire Kivejinja and Justice Muzamiru Kibeedi and children at State House Entebbe this afternoon.

The President said that the late Kivejinja was a founder member of the National Resistance Movement and a loyal cadre of the National Resistance Movement till his death.

Museveni credited Al-Hajji Kivejinja for being a development oriented leader who manifested in a number of projects that he initiated and accomplished in several parts of Busoga in the fields of education, health, sports, the religious sector as well as looking after the needy and the disadvantaged in society.

President Museveni assured the family that the National Resistance Movement can never forget the efforts of their time tested cadres like the late Kivejinja and will do all it takes to complete all the projects and programs that he left un accomplished. He asked his children to emulate their farther and keep his legacy.

On behalf of the family of the late Kivejinja, Hajji Yusuf Kakaire, the young brother to the late Kivejinja thanked President Museveni for being a trusted brother to the late Kivejinja and for loving him on earth and when he is long gone.

“You have travelled a long journey together and am sure he did not disappoint you because the late Kivejinja was never a person who could easily be swayed away,” Hajji Kakaire said.
