President hails Investors on job Creation, Environmental Conservation

KISOZI, GOMBA DISTRICT: President Yoweri Museveni has commended two American investors Mr. Glenn Camp, the Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of Sustainable Communities Holdings and Mr. Austin McDonald, the President of Genezen Energy. Glenn Camp for creating jobs and engaging in environmentally friendly projects for the ordinary Ugandans.

The President yesterday met the investors at his country home in Kisozi, Gomba district. The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga attended the meeting. Pastor Jane Frances Cheptegei accompanied the investors from Califonia USA.

Sustainable Community Holdings are setting up a factory in Budaka to manufacture building panels from agricultural waste products like rice straws while Genezen Energy have been given 50 acres of land by Iki-Iki Sub-county in Budaka to set up a factory to manufacture solar panels and recyclable LED Silicate solar batteries, which are safer than Lithium batteries.

“There are benefits from such investments such as creating jobs and conserving the environmental. This will stop people from cutting trees to get building materials and will also lower the cost of building materials,” he said, adding that government will fully support the projects.

The President said the project, once it kicks off will benefit both government low-tier workers and ordinary Ugandans to access quality housing.

“This will help our government workers like the teachers, police,  the army and other members of the public to access decent housing. We can support them, especially with installment payments. The government will co-invest in this factory that will help lower the cost of building materials,” he said.
