President Museveni on two-day official visit to Zimbabwe

HARARE, ZAMBABWE - President Yoweri Museveni has arrived in the Zimbabwe Capital Harare on a two-day official visit at the invitation of the President of Zimbabwe His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The President is the Chief Guest at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) and will officially open it on Friday 26th, 2019 in Bulawayo, the second largest city in the Southwest of Zimbabwe.

The President was received on arrival at Robert Mugabe International Airport by his counterpart President Mnangagwa who introduced him to the receiving party including the Vice President, accompanying Minister, Commander Defence Forces, Army Commander, Airforce Commander, Commissioner General of Police and Commissioner General of Prisons and Correctional Service. Uganda’s High Commissioner to South Africa Barbara Nekesa was also at the airport to receive the President.

President Museveni inspected a guard of honour mounted by officers and men of the Zimbabwe armed forces.

The two leaders are expected to have tete-A-tete talks ahead of a state banquet hosted by Preside Mnangagwe and first lady Mai A. Mnangagwa in honour of their guest.

The 60th edition of the Zimbabwe international trade fair is running under the theme, “Propagating industrial growth through trade and investment,” a rallying call for industry and commerce to explore trade and investment opportunities in Zimbabwe.

Sixteen countries are participating including Nigeria, Namibia, Mauritius, Botswana, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, Belarus, Germany, United States and United Arab Emirates

The five day trade fair features events aimed at engaging through dialogue, emerging business trends, opportunities and challenges in facilitating trade.
