TOORO INDUSTRIAL HUB TO SKILL YOUTH FOR MONEY ECONOMY - SHC

KYENJOJO DISTRICT: The Tooro Presidential Industrial Hub will train youth in different skills including bakery, block making and stone cutting, shoe making, tailoring and knitting, Coffee and maize processing, welding, hair dressing and others through common user facilities to empower them to join the money economy, the State House Comptroller Jane Barekye has said.

The 8th Meeting of the 4th Central Executive Committee of the National Resistance Movement Party sitting in Emergency Session at Entebbe today 23rd March 2022, hereby resolves as follows:

1. To place on record, our distinct recognition and warm acknowledgement of the sterling contribution of Rt. Hon. Jacob L'Okori Oulanyah (RIP), Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, to the vigorous advancement of the Programs of National Resistance Movement;

PRESIDENT MUSEVENIS STATEMENT AND GUIDANCE FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF SPEAKER OF PARLIAMENT

Countrymen and Countrywomen

Yesterday,  at about 12.40pm, it was my sad duty to announce the untimely death of our Speaker,  the Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah, MP for Omoro. 

Today, I add the following: 

1. I extend my condolences, the condolences of my family and of all Ugandans to the children of Oulanyah and to his wider family.  The government and the NRM will always stand with them.  I will say more about Rt. Hon. Oulanyah in the coming days.  

H.ES MESSAGE ON THE DEATH OF SPEAKER JACOB OULANYA

Countrymen and Countrywomen. 

It is with a lot of sadness that I announce the death of the Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah, the Speaker of Parliament.  

I got information of this sad news at 10.30am, East African time from People that have been with him and the doctor that was caring for him in the intensive care unit. He was a good Cadre. I delayed the announcement so that his children would be informed first. 

May His soul rest in eternal peace. 

AFRICA CANNOT BE SECURE IF WE CANNOT WORK TOGETHER - MUSEVENI TELLS ENVOYS

NALI, KYANKWANZI: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that the government is now focusing on getting all Ugandans out of poverty through the Parish Development Model.

"We want these 39% of the people who are still working for the stomach to get out and also work for the pockets. They must get out. Everybody must work for the benefit of his family," Museveni said. 

AFRICA CAN WORK COLLABORATIVELY TO DEVELOP VACCINES – PRESIDENT

STATE HOUSE ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has said that Uganda is aggressively investing in the pathogenic economy and is building on its experience in manufacturing AIDS drugs for the last ten years through the Quality Chemicals Industry, adding that the industry has grown to produce other drugs including anti malaria, antibiotics and anti-Tuberculosis drugs among others.

GOVERNMENT TO STRENGTHEN UGANDA AIR CARGO TO SUPPORT EXPORTS – PRESIDENT

STATE LODGE, NAKASERO: President Yoweri Museveni has said there is a need to sort out the business roles between the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) and KACITA, a business support association in Uganda in order to promote trade and development.

“KACITA is a business group. They buy from others and bring here. Ours is to do production ourselves, do import substitution and export promotion for tangible economic transformation,” he said.

OPERATION SHUJA TOTAL SUCCESS - CIC

KOLOLO CEREMONIAL GROUNDS: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief (C-i-C) of the Armed forces has reminded the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and the UPDF of his advice to improve the welfare of soldier's and their families including providing free education for the children of the soldiers until they finish secondary level. He says this has been his wish since 1986.

PRESIDENT WOOS TURKISH INVESTORS ON MINERAL VALUE ADDITION

 

STATE HOUSE, ENTEBBE: President Yoweri Museveni has said Uganda has great potential in mineral exploration and development and only needs investors they can partner with to refine and add value for export.

“We are very interested in mineral development. On the gold, we have our own but also because of the security exports have gone up in the region. We have removed all taxes on refined minerals. If we can refine gold here, our people can benefit through making jewelry,” he said.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI BANS LAND EVICTIONS

H.E Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has banned all land evictions in the country that are carried out without the consent of the respective District Security Committees (DSC). 

In a letter dated February 28, 2022, addressed to the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, and using his powers under Article 98(1) and 99(1) of the Constitution that enjoins him to ensure good governance and protect the Constitution, the President directed that:
