PRESIDENT MUSEVENI COMMENDS UGANDANS FOR EMBRACING NRM IDEAS THAT HAVE STEERED DEVELOPMENT

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the Commander In Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has commended Ugandans for embracing the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ideas that has enabled the country to develop. 

“I thank you very much the people of Uganda; when we brought our ideas, you accepted them because if you didn't accept, we would have been isolated,” he said. 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI EMPHASIZES THE NEED FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION TO ENABLE GOVERNMENT PAY GOOD SALARIES TO PUBLIC SERVANTS

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said the government cannot pay good salaries to public servants if there's no socio-economic transformation in societies. 

 

“How will the state pay good salaries if there's no socio-economic transformation? Where does it get money from? When we took over the government, we were earning very small salaries for a long time, even now I earn a small salary,” he said. 

HEADS OF STATE SEEN-OFF AFTER ATTENDING NAM AND IGAD SUMMITS

A section of Heads of State and heads of delegations have today been seen off at Entebbe International Airport after attending the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Heads of State and Government meeting and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit. 

The President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E William Ruto was seen off by Hon. John Mulimba, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Affairs. 

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI BIDS FAREWELL TO OUTGOING UNDP RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today bid farewell to Ms. Elsie G. Attafuah, the outgoing United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative for Uganda who paid a courtesy call on him at his country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura District. 

Ms. Elsie has been the UNDP Resident Representative for Uganda for four and a half years.

President Yoweri Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Museveni, spent Christmas Day at their cherished country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura district.

The day was filled with warmth and togetherness as the President and First Lady hosted a delightful luncheon, graced by their children, Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Karugire and Mr. and Mrs. Odrek Rwabwogo, alongside their beloved grandchildren.

UTCL AND UAE'S RCC SIGN JOINT PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday 22nd December 2023 witnessed the signing of an agreement for a joint venture between the Uganda Telecommunications Corporation Limited (UTCL) and Rowad Capital Commercial LLC (RCC), a company based in Dubai-United Arab Emirates at State House, Entebbe.

UTCL is Uganda’s National Telecommunication operator, birthed from the former Uganda Telecom Limited (UTL). 

H.E PRESIDENT MUSEVENI WELCOMES SOMALIA INTO THE EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY, RE-ECHOES PROSPERITY AND STRATEGIC SECURITY

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has welcomed Somalia into the East African Community, describing the move as a boost to the efforts of the regional bloc to ensure prosperity and strategic security of its people.

 

Speaking as a witness at the signing ceremony of the treaty of accession by the Federal Republic of Somalia today at State House Entebbe, H.E Museveni re-echoed the logic behind the East African integration saying strategic security is top on the agenda.
