President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the First Lady, Janet Kataaha Museveni have today laid a wreath on the grave of the late Canon. Constance Kabonero at Ibaare, Ntungamo District. 

During the ceremony, the President and the First Lady commiserated with the family of the late Kabonero who died on 30th May, 2023.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today met and held discussions with the Yoruba Kingdom of Nigeria, King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi in Ntungamo District.

During the meeting, President Museveni informed King Ogunwusi and his delegation that traditional leaders should work towards uniting their people but not dividing them. 

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today reiterated the government's commitment to develop all sports disciplines in Uganda now that the country has registered significant improvements in the economy. 

According to the President, the focus is now on building more stadiums and training facilities across the country for all sports disciplines.

Uganda’s challenges which include youth unemployment, corruption and poverty among others have widely been blamed on the leaders. In a bid to provide solutions and lay a foundation for meaningful future leadership, a total of 200 youth leaders from all over the country have come together to forge a way forward in a 3-day National Students And Youth Leaders' Empowerment Summit held at Grand Global Hotel- Makerere. 

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has attributed Uganda's flourishing Industrial sector to the good policy decisions made by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government. 

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has received credentials from nine (9) envoys, newly accredited to Uganda.

The envoys who included Ambassadors and High Commissioners from the Republic of Ethiopia, India, Belgium, Namibia, Malawi, Philippines, Mozambique, Brazil and Canada presented their credentials on Tuesday 22nd August 2023 at State House, Entebbe.

The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) wishes to inform the General Public that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has signed nine (9) bills into law. 

The nine bills assented to, by the President are:

1. The National Sports Act, 2023

2. The Stamp Duty (Amendment) Act, 2023 

3. The Foreign Exchange (Amendment) Act, 2023

4. The Value Added Tax (Amendment) No. 2) Act, 2023

H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to the members of the Afro-Arab Youth Council to promote politics of interest in order to maintain peace and stability among member countries.

“As a powerful youth group, you should strengthen that idea and spread it,” he said.

President Museveni made the remarks today while meeting a delegation from the Afro-Arab Youth Council at State Lodge-Nakasero.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to the youths to desist from embracing a wrong Ideology of sectarianism, religion and tribes and working for foreign interests.

“If you take that line, you will fail because I have been watching all these years many of the people who came in power at Independence were young people but because they did not address the issue of ideology, that is why we had so many problems in Uganda,” President Museveni said.
