“Government to Invest in Solar Pumps for Production” – Museveni tells Kigezi Region

President Yoweri Museveni who is currently in South Western Uganda to sensitize the wananchi on wealth and job creation campaign, has disclosed that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government will work to enable the manufacturing of solar powered water pumps to ensure the realization of both sustainable irrigation and agro-production.

“We will support the efforts of solar pumps to help you on irrigation,” he said.

“Stop Disturbing the flow of River Rwizi” – President tells People in Ankole

President Yoweri Museveni has called on the people of the Ankole Sub-Region in South Western Uganda to stop the vice of disrupting the flow of River Rwizi. 

The President made the call last evening during a live radio talk show at Mbarara State Lodge as he continues his countrywide tour to sensitize wananchi on wealth and job creation campaign.

“Emphasize Wealth and Job Creation” – President Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has strongly advised the people of Bunamwaya in particular and Uganda in general to prioritize the creation of wealth at household level in order to effectively eradicate poverty.

“Development is for all but wealth is on an individual basis that can go a long way in creating jobs also. Let us emphasize on wealth and job creation,” he stressed.

President Museveni calls for Translation in Local Languages Non-Communicable Diseases

President Yoweri Museveni has today in the morning participated in the activities to mark the 2nd National Activity Day that was flagged off at Kololo Independence Ceremonial grounds in Kampala. The Physical Activity Day aims at informing the population in the country of the importance of physical activity and its relevance in fighting Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

“We shall arrest Thieves Involved in false claims of Shs.7.3 billion” – Lt. Col. Nakalema

The Head of the Anti-Corruption Unit in Stated House, Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema, has said that Government wants the genuine claims for the supply of tea seedlings in Southwestern Uganda’s Kisoro District to be paid. 

“We want the genuine claims to be paid. Payments have been delayed because of the fake claims. We shall arrest the thieves. There are reports of collusion between officials of Kisoro District and NAADS to defraud Government of Shs.7.3 billion in false claims,” she said.

President Receives special Message from Ethiopia Premier

President Yoweri Museveni has received a special message from the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr. Ahmed Abiy 

The Prime Minister’s Special Advisor, Mr. Girma Birru Geda, who is also the Ethiopian Ambassador to the United States of America, delivered the message to President Museveni yesterday at State House, Nakasero. 

The President and the Ethiopian Envoy discussed matters of mutual interest between Uganda and Ethiopia.
