President tours restored wetland Project in Pallisa District

President Yoweri Museveni has toured the first ever restored wetland project in Limoto Parish of Putiputi Sub-County, Pallisa District in Eastern Uganda that was once destroyed by the people living around the area by growing rice there. 

“People who were cultivating the wetland used to get only Shs.700,000/= per year from one acre but now with the fish ponds in the same acre, farmers are getting Shs.70 million per year,” he told a rally at Kalaki Primary School playground.

CABINET RESHUFFLE 2019

In  Exercise of the Powers vested in the President by Articles 99(1), 108(2), 108A(1), 113(1) and 114(1) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has, in pursuance of the goals of the NRM and Ugandans in general, made minor changes to the Cabinet. 

He has appointed persons listed below as Vice President, Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State and Senior Presidential Advisors:

President praises Kyambogo University for new Innovations

President Yoweri Museveni has praised the leadership of Kampala-based Kyambogo University for the new innovations exhibited at the stalls at today’s graduation ceremony in the University Campus describing them as a renaissance that Africa needs. 

“In Kyambogo you are beginning to wake up. There is actually renaissance at Kyambogo. Kyambogo has got out of Kulambala (sleep),” he observed.

President commissions over 70 health professionals in Iganga

Over 70 professionals in enrolled Nursing, Midwifery, pharmacy, laboratory techniques, records and information management in Iganga District have been commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni. The graduands were awarded Diplomas and Certificates in Clinical Medicine, 3 years after the launching of the Institute.

The graduation ceremony took place yesterday at Lubega Institute of Nursing and Health Professionals Campus in Busei Parish of Nakalama Sub-County in Kigulu South Constituency. 

President commends Tororo Catholic Church on Income Projects

President Yoweri Museveni has highly praised Tororo Catholic Church for supplementing Government’s efforts by initiating income-generating projects that will go a long way in helping wananchi to decisively fight poverty.

“I am happy to be in Soni-Kainja to find the word ‘Chewi’ meaning waking up. The Chewi is behind the classrooms here – green houses – where you can grow crops in a small area,” he said.

President launches 2019 FOCAC Conference

President Yoweri Museveni has launched the 2019 FOCAC Conference with a highlight on ways of eradicating poverty not only in Uganda but in the whole of Africa.

While addressing the conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo today, the President highlighted the major sectors of the economy that will address the problem of poverty as being commercial agriculture, Industries, services and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
