President Yoweri Museveni has strongly appealed to the leadership of the Uganda Police Force to design a clear, holistic and simplistic plan that will make the Force more effective in carrying out their mandate of keeping law and order, curbing crime, protecting lives and property of all Ugandans.
President Yoweri Museveni has appealed to traditional leaders in the country to emphasize areas of prosperity, strategic security, fraternity and linkages among their subjects rather than laying emphasis more on their differences.
President Yoweri Museveni has called on all East African Community member states to work on the fast tracking of the East African Political Federation in order to address the issue of strategic security in the region.
“Prosperity can be achieved through economic integration but when it comes to strategic security, we cannot achieve it if we remain separate countries. That is why we talk of federation so that we can have a strong centre of gravity,” he said.
Four Officers of Soroti University in Eastern Uganda have been jointly charged for stealing Shs.15,900,000/= (UGX Fifteen Million Nine Hundred Thousand).
The officials who appeared today before the Anti-Corruption Court at Kololo in Kampala, are Assistant Estates’ Officer David Omeke, Internal Auditor James Odongo, Acting Bursar Gilbert Otim and Acting University Secretary Samuel Omoding. They were charged before the Magistrate Moses Nabende. Prosecutor Nicholas Kawooya presented the charges.

The Tripartite Summit of the Heads of State of Uganda, Sudan and South Sudan that took place today at State House, Entebbe on the revitalized Agreement on Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan, has agreed to extend the Pre-Transitional period for one hundred days effective 12th November 2019 in order to, among others, handle the incomplete critical tasks related to the security arrangements, including the formation of a revitalized transitional government of National Unity.

President Yoweri Museveni has received a special message from his South Sudan counterpart, Salva Kiir.
President Kiir’s Special Envoy, Mr. Michael Makuei Lueth, who led a six-man delegation, delivered the message to President Museveni today at State House, Nakasero in the presence of State Minister for Regional Affairs, Mr. Philemon Mateke and Senior Advisor to Uganda Government on South Sudan peace process, Ms. Betty Bigombe, among others.
President Yoweri Museveni has encouraged Danish agricultural investors to consider setting up agricultural processing and production industries in Uganda as opposed to the costly process of importing agriculture machines.
The President made the remarks yesterday in a meeting with a visiting Danish agribusiness and food tech-business delegation from the Danish Agriculture and Food Council at State House, Entebbe, led by Mr Jeppe Sondergaard Pedersen.
