President Yoweri Museveni has welcomed the idea of a Russian-Ugandan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Scientific and Technological Cooperation saying it will boost industrial development in Uganda through the use of space technology in carrying out research.
President Yoweri Museveni has said that the NRM’s aim is to share with Wananchi how we can improve our lives. He made the remarks today during a rally that he addressed at Orom Primary school in Orom Sub County, Cwa County in Kitgum District. Shortly after arriving in the area, he launched a piped water supply for Orom Town Council.
NEBBI, WEST NILE: Nebbi local leaders yesterday showered President Yoweri Museveni with various gifts amidst including sheep, goats, chicken and cultural regalia amidst cheering describing him as a unifying and developmental leader who understands the needs of the people.
LIRA DISTRICT: President Yoweri Museveni has said that commercialization of agriculture will create wealth and employment especially if people made proper cost effective enterprise selection and mix.
Speaking to the people of Lango via radio link at a show moderated by Minister for Lands Betty Amogi, at Lira Hotel in Lira Municipality recently, the President urged leaders to guide communities to do proper calculations for the enterprises they engage in.
MASINDI STATE LODGE: President Yoweri Museveni has said that for any country to develop faster, it should first invest in its own population, which he said is the biggest capital resource for any country.
President Yoweri Museveni has said government is considering introducing project centered SACCOs to support grass-root initiatives aimed at creating jobs and improving incomes for the rural poor.
“We have experimented this in Kasandha and realized that if we encouraged wanaichi to join SACCOs that promote their interests, it would be easier for government to channel money in those respective SACCOs for easy access for them to boost their projects,” he said.

President Yoweri Museveni has urged leaders of anti-corruption agencies in Africa to deeply involve victims of corruption in the fight against the vice because victims are the ones who most feel the pain and don’t gain anything from the practice.
“When you are corrupt, the pain is felt by the masses. It is the victims who can help you to fight corruption better. They have nothing to lose,” he observed.
