DR. KENNETH OMONA TELLS NORTHERN UGANDA 

The Minister of State for Northern Uganda Affairs, Dr. Kenneth Omona has called upon the people of Northern Uganda to appreciate the achievements and contributions of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s government in bringing peace and transformation in the region. 

He also advised that they should support all the initiatives by the President aimed at bringing prosperity in Northern Uganda.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is also the Commander-In-Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has said the base of the army is good despite a few pockets of challenges. 

“Therefore, the command should not tolerate those who bring pollution in the army,” he said.

The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) wishes to inform the General Public that the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Gen. (Rtd). Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has today, 7th February, 2024, met the former President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, the Facilitator of the East African Community (EAC) - led Nairobi Peace Process. 

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the Commander In Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has commended Ugandans for embracing the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ideas that has enabled the country to develop. 

“I thank you very much the people of Uganda; when we brought our ideas, you accepted them because if you didn't accept, we would have been isolated,” he said. 

A section of Heads of State have arrived today in Uganda to attend the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Heads of State and Government meeting and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit.

The leaders who are already in Uganda include South Sudan President, H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit, Djibouti President, H.E Ismail Omar Guelleh and Somalia President, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today held a meeting with a delegation of Egyptian investors at State House, Entebbe. 

The delegation was led by H.E Dato Arshad Mahmood, the Chairman of the International Investment Consortium Inc.

The consortium is a global design and finance investment consortium that is driving economic growth across the planet.
